Taught by Miss Iona, Lyrical classes at North Star Dance Studio offer pupils the opportunity to participate in a more fluid, expressive dance discipline. Pupils are encouraged to tell a story through their movements, and the class format is a mixture of repetition from previous weeks combined with newly choreographed pieces.
Lyrical pupils are encouraged to display their own creativity by participating in improvisation to music, and for those who want to, they can demonstrate their work to the class via solo and duet showcases. Although not a requirement, each lyrical pupil is encouraged to perform in the annual show.

- Lyrical Juniors - P3 & P4 pupils
- Lyrical Mids - P5-P7 pupils
- Lyrical Seniors - S1 and up
FAQs
Is there a uniform for Lyrical?
At present there is no uniform requirement for Lyrical, however there are plans to introduce this in the future. It is essential that pupils wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in (e.g. leggings and a t-shirt).
